KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Conduct physical and chemical laboratory test procedures using standard industry methods.
- Utilize a Laboratory Information System (LIMS) to enter data, track data trends, login samples and track instrument QC status in QC plus.
- Operate, clean, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain analyzers and associated equipment as directed.
- Maintain records, inventory parts, sampling supplies and chemicals, and order as directed.
- Maintain ERT and work permit qualification(s).
- Prepare samples for hazardous shipping and track shipments for completion.
- Review all approval paperwork, acknowledge the validity of the data, and issue ROA’s/COA’s through Sample Manager and Product Certification.
- Train in a timely manner on test methods, demonstrate proficiency, and assist in training new and less experienced personnel
- Perform general housekeeping, hazardous waste management and maintain safety equipment
- Support and maintain a positive working environment.
- Paid training is provided for all new hires with a starting rate of $44.67 and is a union position with United Steelworkers Local 5.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in science related field with a minimum of four college chemistry and two chemistry lab courses required.
- Required computer proficiency with standard Microsoft office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems preferred
- A valid Driver's License is required
