Overview:General Qualifications:
The Facility and Vehicle Assistant is a Ministerial Support position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles – no matter their personal beliefs - respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. Additionally, they are required to abide by MHA’s culture code and standards of conduct.

All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.

Position Objective*:

The Facility and Vehicle Assistant is responsible to help maintain the continued safe and functional operation of the physical aspects of Kidder Creek Camp, to offer campers and staff comfortable and well-kept facilities, equipment and vehicles in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision, culture code and standards of conduct.

Key Job Accountabilities*:

Perform basic maintenance tasks as necessary to provide functional facilities for campers and staff.

• Mow lawns and maintain landscaping when necessary to offer campers and staff an exceptional visual experience.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles as necessary to ensure they are functional and safe.
• Keep weekly records of vehicle service and report necessary repairs or concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Direct staff or volunteers in fulfilling specific tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May direct or oversee the work of summer staff or volunteers.

Qualifications:Education/Certifications/Licenses:

• High School graduate.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in general maintenance and repairs.
• Previous vehicle or equipment service experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General vehicle and equipment care experience.

• Ability to evaluate and problem solve maintenance issues as they arise.
• Ability to exercise good judgement and common sense when working with equipment, around people, or fulfilling responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and move around the majority of the workday, squat, reach, lift and carry loads, and use hands and arms for repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs. and be physical able to meet the demands of various duties.
• Ability to spend several hours outside and in variety of weather conditions.
• May be lifting and manipulating heavy objects, and may be in the proximity of sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.

Additional Requirements :

• Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.
• Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s mission, vision, culture code and standards of conduct.
• Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
• Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
