QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience as a coach preferred
- Visionary leadership and a proven track record of leadership abilities in planning, supervision, human relations, communication and staff development
- High moral and ethical character; impeccable integrity and trustworthiness
- Positive attitude and human relations skills
- Demonstrates characteristics of being approachable, personable and accessible to staff and community.
- Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders in a timely, created and engaging manner. This could include but is not limited to email, in-person presentations and social media.
- Ability to create, maintain, organize and administer the overall program of interscholastic athletics, including other activities
- Valid driver’s license
- Attend the Diocese of Saginaw Safe Environment Training for new hire employees within the first 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of criminal background check, pre-employment physical and drug screening
- All other duties assigned by building principals
- Ability to assist both elementary & middle/high school principals in the administration of the total school program including daily building operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and support all varsity and club sports at the middle and high school level
- Held organize and lead elementary intramural sports.
- Is responsible for the scheduling, organizing, carrying out, and supervising athletic events
- Responsible in selecting, assigning and evaluating all coaching personnel.
- Assumes leadership role in the orientation and in-service training and education of coaching personnel (employees and/or volunteers).
- Develops and continues to evaluate appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of student-athletes and athletic activities
- Maintain and manage athletic budget, including coordination with elementary and high school budgets
- Assists in managing building staff, including class schedules and building problems
- Responsible for managing uniform and other resources associated with athletic programs
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regular night and weekend duty is expected
- Indoor and outdoor work is expected. Must be able to tolerate exposure to any weather conditions deemed appropriate and safe for athletic contests / school events
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance
