Our client, a leading 3PL distribution company is looking to add a Junior Systems Engineer to their I.T team. The ideal candidate would have a comprehensive understand in computer sciences and would be familair with programming and windows server applications.

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:

Develop and implement software applications. Implement and support on-premise and cloud infrastructures in alignment with the corporate IT strategy. Experience in developing and implementing business applications. Work with VP of IT and IT Analyst to initiate and implement business applications and integrations. Provide ideas and solutions to move the company forward in the business application arena.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, develop and document software integrations
  • Define, develop and build elements of software solutions as part of an overall program
  • Evaluate, select and review third party applications
  • Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs
  • Ensure continued functionality of applications during maintenance and testing of software
  • Address client concerns and provide solutions for bug fixes
  • Administer user accounts for business applications
  • Assist implementing corporate IT projects and project management tasks
  • Other duties may be assigned as required
  • Good knowledge of SQL, Python, Java and/or JavaScript and nodejs
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows Server
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • Experience using Postman or similar tools
  • Experience connecting to API’s would be a plus
  • Working knowledge with MS Office applications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of Personal Computers, Servers, Networking, Shared Drives and E-mail Protocols.

Experience resolving hardware and software issues. Proficient in Internet related applications such as, FTP clients and Web Browsers.

Understanding of business processes to solve practical problems. Provide clear instructions to the project team how a software works and ability to answer any questions. Deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Efficiently identify and resolve issues that arise during design, testing and software maintenance processes.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports and procedures.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and hourly employees
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
