WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR…
BA has an immediate position available in its New York Office for a Junior Structural Engineer with the ability to provide high-level technical support to various marine and waterfront projects. This individual will make a meaningful contribution to our multi-disciplinary team of Architects, Engineers, and Planners and will be involved throughout the life of a project. General duties include preparation of construction documents, executing structural analysis and design tasks, and interfacing with other discipline specialists.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in conducting preliminary studies and preparing plans for all structural projects including marine structures or structural elements of marinas, marine terminals for cruise, cargo, and others;
- Performing structural analysis tasks and design of building materials; including but not limited to steel, prestressed and reinforced concrete, and timber design;
- Assisting in the preparation of construction documents (drawings and specifications) and ensuring all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations;
- Performing onsite investigations of structures and developing reports detailing findings and assessments thereof;
- Preparing meeting minutes and project progress reports;
- Computing material quantities and developing construction cost estimates;
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred;
- Engineer in Training (EIT) designation, Professional Engineer (PE) preferred, or have qualifications in place to apply for PE;
- 1-3 years of engineering design experience, Marine Engineering project experience preferred;
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite including in MS Project, and experience in Finite Element Analysis (SAP2000 or StaadPro preferred)
