The Junior Motion Graphics Designer uses their skills to support different internal and external marketing efforts by the marketing team. Responsibilities may include both collaborative and independent work on a variety of animated infographics, motion graphics, graphics for video, as well as various vfx work. While a junior designer will be expected to produce, there is an added emphasis on learning and growth as part of your normal workload.

Additional duties will include working with the video, design and content teams to create deliverables for web and social media. Success requires strong brainstorming and creative problem solving skills, good interpersonal skills, the ability to quickly adapt or be flexible, attention to detail, and the ability to take constructive criticism and feedback. Fundamental tech and software skills are required, as well as a commitment to staying organized and the ability to do pre production planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete motion graphics projects while working individually, as well as with peers and superiors
• Use animation, typography, composition and videography to communicate the needs of the project and tell the appropriate story
• Assist the A/V Tech to complete necessary video projects, including camera operation, audio recording, lighting, and basic interview techniques.
• Work with the graphic design to create and/or animate infographics for internal or external marketing.
• Assist the content team in creating deliverables for social media campaigns, advertisements and posts.
• Create storyboards, outlines, treatments and other visual and written methods to communicate ideas as part of the pre production process.
• Work with Senior Motion Design/Production Manager to research and identify software and hardware needs.
• Work with the Art Director/content team to maintain “on-brand” messaging in all projects
• Work with the Production Manager to produce all necessary content as required
• Participate in department wide and inter departmental brainstorm sessions to solve problems and find new ideas for marketing initiativesAssist in creating deliverables for social media campaigns, advertisements and posts.

Education and Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, motion graphics or equivalent experience in the motion graphics and design field is preferred but not required

• Ability to work in a high-stress environment to meet project deadlines and give minute attention to detail
• Highly self-motivated individual
• Must be a self-starter who works well individually and in a team environment
• General knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and visual effects
• Good understanding and use of typography, color, and composition
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sketch, storyboard, or demonstrate ideas in a visual format
• Proficient in G-Suite Office programs such as Sheets, Docs and Forms
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Illustrator
• Working knowledge of CInema 4D and Motion tracking software is a plus
