Job description
Major multinational manufacturer of thermoplastic piping systems and instrumentation serving the microelectronics, water treatment, chemical processing, food and beverage, and life sciences market segments is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our engineering group as a Junior Design Engineer. GF Piping Systems is looking for employees focused on a values led culture and with whom we can achieve our business goals.
Your Tasks
- Prepare detailed quotations from engineering drawings
- Perform detailed takeoffs of conceptual / preliminary drawings
- Performs feasibility, performance, and/or condition assessments
- Responds to customer/sales needs on a timely basis
- Take on special projects as assigned
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, design engineering, computer modeling or other utility-related area, preferred
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software to develop models and drawings
- Ability to identify patterns or trends within data
- Ability to read complex plans or diagrams (e.g. blue prints)
- Prior experience in piping design and/or field experience with piping systems highly desirable
- Self-starter/Acts on own initiative making decisions after thorough evaluation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Ability to utilize a computer to complete task
