GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK

Performs semiskilled work and participating in juice bar activities and services; does related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of the Juice Bar Coordinator.

This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, use of measuring devices, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arms’ length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS

Assists members and guests with product choices; prepares and serves beverages; collects and accounts for money; performs general custodial work in the juice bar area. Ring in sale of juice bar items. Opening and closing procedures, including balancing cash drawer. Prepares and serves members smoothies. Replenishes and restocks juice bar supplies. Answers phone and makes appointments for fitness orientations as needed. Performs related tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving nutritious beverages; general knowledge of food values and nutrition; exceptional service skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, attending high school or work permit and some experience in food service.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid certifications. Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
