Benefits to you:
- We pay up to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time and part-time employees], including mental health coverage.
- The hourly equivalent for this position is $19.04 - $31.02.

Position Highlights:
The
Clackamas County Circuit Court
in Oregon City, Oregon is hiring a Judicial Assistant (Judicial Services Specialist 3) to provide the judge with clerical processing, courtroom coordination, and technological support for computer hardware and software programs.
NOTE: This position is part of a classification study. The study may result in a change to the current job profile and salary in Spring 2023.
Much of your day is spent providing moderate to complex clerical support to Judge Jones. You will fully maintain the judge’s schedule, organize the assembled materials, notify parties as well as schedule and coordinate court appearances and meetings. You will also track case status assigned to the judge and perform data gathering or limited legal research regarding cases. You are expected to assist attorneys and the public regarding all courtroom operations.
Additionally, you will prepare and processes a variety of court documents requiring a broad knowledge of court operations and legal terminology/format. This includes, but is not limited to, judicial correspondence, memoranda, reports, legal documents such as court orders, opinions, and instructions. You are expected to review for accuracy and completeness and scan such documents in the court’s internal software system. You will also function as the backup court clerk during court proceedings, including assisting jurors and operating recording equipment.
You will use established policies and procedures to perform your work, while also ensuring statutory requirements are met. Most importantly, you will be part of our justice system that ensures peoples’ cases are heard impartially and in a timely manner.
Lastly, you will participate in statewide or local committee meetings, including making recommendations regarding future improvements in processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have at least two (2) years of responsible, clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.

Working Conditions
- This is a full-time position, and the work schedule currently is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week.
- This is a high volume, fast-paced office environment with interruptions and frequent case-type deadlines that require a high volume of document handling, processing in a timely manner, and long periods of sitting while entering data into the computer.
- Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.
- Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may at times be angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated.
- Daily work with confidential documents and information.
- Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, personal computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, 10-key, and scanner.
- Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and standing may be required.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds of office material or equipment may be required.
