Client: Southwest Airlines

Role: Java Technical Lead

Location: Remote (main office is in Dallas, TX)

Duration: 1 year open ended contract

Project:

• Will be joining an existing pod, their team lead left
• Currently working on a Wheel & Break application in AWS, primarily using Java and Node.js
• Will also support a few other custom Java applications (upgrades, support, etc)
• Mostly leading/delegation, guiding architecture, providing feedback through code reviews
• Ideally only 10-20% hands-on coding

Must have:

• Java
• Deploying in AWS (serverless functions with Lamba)
• Node.js
• Javascript
• Leadership skills and qualities (not necessarily command and control, wants someone who is more of a servant leader and knows how to get people to work together)

Nice to have:

• Python
• Spring
• GitLab knowledge
• Kafka
• React
