IT Systems Administrator

Heartland Express, one of North America’s largest and most profitable truckload carriers offering shippers industry-leading on-time service, is seeking an IT Systems Administrator in the company’s North Liberty, IA headquarters campus to support our state-of-the-art datacenter facilities and IT infrastructure.

The successful candidate will join a service delivery team that provides Server and Storage Management, Database Management, Application Management, Network Management, Virtualization Management, Cybersecurity Management, IT Physical Facilities Management, Personal Computing Device Management, Mobile Device Management, Solution Planning and Development, Capacity Management, Availability Management, and Service Continuity Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Learn and independently perform the tasks necessary to provision, document, support, and decommission hosted systems on-premises and cloud based.

· Work with IT team and business teams to help design and develop new architecture solutions.

· Follow procedures and policies to ensure effectiveness of company internal controls and associated documentation pertaining to change management within our systems environment and access to systems.

· Provide tier 2 and tier 3 level support for service requests, change requests, incident response, and problem handling.

· Provide responsive after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating scheduled basis with other team members.

· Support and maintain IBM iSeries (AS400) servers. Training will be provided for this platform.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

· Experience installing, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting Windows client and server operating systems.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.

· Working knowledge of server virtualization technology.

· Familiarity with management of Single Sign-On solutions.

· Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases, including use of Stored Procedures, SQL Server Agents, and Scheduled Tasks.

· Working knowledge of programming languages including Java, Visual Basic, and .NET.

EDUCATION:

· Required: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience of at least two years.
