Job Function: Provide support services for IT and Automation Systems perspective to the operation and/or capital projects.
Job Type: Full Time Contract (One year)

Scope of Job

RCM is looking for a one (1) IT- Automation Specialist for our pharmaceutical client in Manati, Puerto Rico.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting to computerized and automated systems.
  • Support the project from a computerized and automated systems SME perspective.
  • Evaluate computerized and automated systems current design, functionalities and limitations and controls to be able to recommend design improvements.
  • Works and participates with areas multidisciplinary team on operational and/or projects activities, including providing progress of owned tasks or assessments as needed.
  • Evaluate and perform design reviews of proposed design based on client requirements and strategy.
  • Participate in the installation, configuration, and qualification of IT-Automation infrastructure including Operating System and Applications.
  • Provides projects or activities status using plans and perform best efforts to achieve milestones within the pre-established due dates.
  • Provides alternatives and problem-solving initiatives during possible project delays.
  • Coordinate and recommends action(s) to be taken whenever additions, alterations or changes are to take place in computerized systems.
  • Coordinates with Suppliers of hardware/software and services to obtain quotes and perform orders.
  • Works with the engineering department in the planning, recommendation, and implementation of projects.
  • Evaluates and closes change control documentation assuring the validated and compliance state of the environments.
  • Assist in the management of Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR's) and timeline of process automation or laboratory systems projects and implementation of initiatives and solutions.
  • Support in the execution of the Computer System Validation (CSV) program for automated and computerized systems processes.
  • Develop, create, or revise IT/Automation procedures in DCA needed by the projects following client procedures. These procedures may be for Administration, Backup/Restore, Archiving, maintenance, etc.
  • Develop, create, or revise IT/Automation preventive/proactive maintenance activities within CMMS (Maximo) within the site to needed by the projects following client procedures.
  • Perform necessary trainings and communication to the technical group to implement effective procedures, maintenance activities and/or improvement.
  • Coordinate meetings with technical or other multidisciplinary teams to develop and revise any risk assessment.
  • Communicate to Client IT/Automation leads progress and roadblocks, or any requirements not met by the project and/or assigned activity.
Qualifications
  • High degree experience in Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix PLCs, Factory Talk HMIs, communication protocols) is required.
  • Capable to read and interpret drawings and design specifications.
  • High degree of experience in troubleshooting hardware and software systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in computer systems software/hardware (i.e., backup management, virtualization, servers, communication, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience with virtualization environments and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with system administration and Computer Systems Backups software (i.e, Acronis, Veritas, etc.).
  • Capable to understand and use computers and software packages.
  • Knowledge of cGMP's, local/federal regulatory requirements and documentation procedures pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge or combined experience on preventive maintenance to facilities, utilities, and operations equipment.
  • Experience in development standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions or manuals for automated and computer systems.
  • Experience in supporting computer systems qualification activities.
  • Knowledge and experience in databases and networking.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, both written and verbal are required.
  • Able to interact effectively with people to establish and maintain excellent working relationship with internal and external customers at all organizational levels and disciplines in such a way to facilitate the validation/qualification work.
  • Able to plan and prioritize multiple complex activities simultaneously by using sound Project Management Skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented and self-starter.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
Preferred:
  • Experience with CMMS (Maximo) system preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in Siemens systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in Wonderware software.
  • Knowledge and experience with virtualization software VMWare vSphere.
  • Microsoft SQL Database.
  • Knowledge and experience in OSI soft PI system
  • MES Syncade System
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics or Computer Systems combined with five (5) years of working experience or Associate Degree in Engineering, Electronics or Computer Systems combined with eight (8) years of working experience.
  • Experience must be within an industrial environment and/or maintenance functions working with programmable logic controllers and computerized systems..
