The Central IP &Design Services team within Analog Devices Inc. is responsible for developing, curating, acquiring and providing reusable strategic IPs to Business Units to accelerate product development across the company. This team is looking for a energetic and versatile Digital Design Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating with all the Business Units in ADI to understand their technical IP requirements, conduct technical survey, drive evaluation and benchmarks and lead the effort in successful acquisition of external IP for accelerated product development. The candidate will also work closely with the Digital IP development team to develop/curate, enhance and support both internal and external IP ecosystem. The candidate should be a self-starter and able to multitask effectively. The responsibilities include an understanding of the Design IP landscape in the semiconductor industry, all aspects of design, verification, implementation, and process related information to make a sound judgement on IP comparisons, versatility in programming, EDA tools and methodology to be able to drive benchmark activities, ability to present to internal customers on the survey/evaluation feedback and support the Product Lines in post-acquisition integration activities.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of the central IP team chartered with delivering IP and Subsystem designs to multiple Business Units across ADI
  • Work with Product Definers and System Architects in IP exploratory activities in business justifications for new product definitions
  • Review Design IP providers’ offerings, conduct technical survey and data collection all captured effectively through IP Explorer dashboard
  • Assist with third party IP evaluations and benchmarks eg: Power, Performance, Area tradeoff and make recommendations with comparative analyses
  • Gain exposure and building expertise in design subsystems involving processor cores from IP providers like ARM, Tensilica, RISC-V vendors
  • Assist in Memory integration of Processor cores
  • Develop Integration manuals of Digital IP Subsystem
  • Develop, enhance and deliver internal and External IPs
  • Write reports, and create dashboard to monitor External IP usage metrics
  • Develop, maintain and enhance IP Catalog System and IP Dashboards
  • Coordinate post-acquisition relationship with Business Units and Vendors
  • Manage IP vendor relationship
Requirements:
  • MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering / BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience
  • Proficient in Digital Architecture and Design
  • Experience with Verilog, System Verilog and UVM
  • Experience with Digital Implementation Tools & Methodology (synthesis, Timing, P&R, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl.
  • Knowledge on Database and Design Management is a plus
  • Experience with System and Digital modeling languages (MATLAB, SystemC)
  • Prior experience with Ethernet protocol, AMBA protocol suite (AHB, AXI, APB), serial/parallel protocols such as PCIe or DRAM is desirable
  • Prior experience with CPU & DSP processors is desirable
  • Strong communication skills are a must, as the candidate will interface with a lot of different groups within the company
  • Ability to work well in a team and be productive under tight schedules
