Job Summary:

The IoT Senior Product Manager will be responsible for working closely with internal and external partners to lead EMC IoT products to market. This includes but is not limited to general process development, implementation and documentation; team management; hardware and software engineering, development, testing, and implementation; and being responsible for, and/or assisting with the development of product improvements, changes and or enhancements. The IoT Senior Product Manager should have a keen sense of current product trends, especially as it pertains to smart buildings, lighting, and IoT enabling technologies. Additionally, the IoT Senior Product Manager will have familiarity with the manufacturing process, industrial design experience, the ability to analyze market research to identify and support new product opportunities. Finally, this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to be curious and continually learn.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage assigned products to ensure the success over their entire life cycle.
• Ensure products meet market needs now and, in the future, while also achieving product goals for growth, profitability, quality, and market share.
• Direct product development strategy making decisions on product development, solutions, aftermarket, and service offerings that meet market needs.
• Define key product benefits and value propositions.
• Manage, and interface and communicate with third party engineering and/or manufacturing firms.
• Lead and manage individual contributors.
• Work with EMC sales and marketing to support the development of branding, pricing and marketing strategies for assigned EMC products.
• Timely introduction of assigned EMC products to market.
• Incorporate customer feedback into product improvements and maintain product roadmaps for assigned products.
• Partner with EMC Finance department to develop pricing models and forecasts for EMC assigned products.
• Set high standards that will align with the organization’s goals.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a preference for marketing and/or business.
  

Experience Required:

• Five+ years of product management experience with a preference for developing lighting and/or IoT products.

Experience Preferred/Other Qualifications:

• Lighting, Electrical, and LED technical knowledge.
• Understanding of technology communication protocols such as Zigbee, BLE etc.

Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

• The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
