The Role

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for stocking ,verification of received items to their proper bin/stock location
• Conduct a recount investigation to determine root cause if item is verified out of range

Participate in an ongoing basis in routine inventory cycle counts

• Partner with other departments to resolve inventory issues
• Review material orders, expedite orders, analyze usage, and assist in determining inventory levels
• Evaluate/identify/report excess and/or obsolete materials
• Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects/reports damaged items, and records shortages.
• Maintain accurate inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate lift truck/hand truck to move or store materials.
• Perform unpacking of shipment deliveries, enter product into computer inventory system and store in proper warehouse location.
• Maintain computer automated inventory and management system to ensure actual physical inventory matches database logical inventory. Investigate/correct inventory discrepancies.
• Communicate effectively with internal manufacturing, supervisory, and support groups concerning materials, inventory and shipment issues.
• Deliver product or other materials to departments.
• Work with transportation carriers regarding incoming and outgoing product shipments.
• Manually lift materials for storage and/or transport to manufacturing operations.
• Maintain compliance to safe work and quality compliance standards and practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping and compliance to 5S/Lean manufacturing concepts/practices.

What we expect of you?

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing or distribution operations.
• Knowledge of shipping/receiving/inventory control procedures.
• Able to stand for long periods. Manually lift heavy objects as required.
• Computer proficiency –Microsoft Word. Able to learn and effectively use computerized inventory systems.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with manufacturing, internal support groups, and external transportation carriers.
• Able to safely operate an industrial forklift or other lift/transport equipment.
• Able to use hand/power tools as required.
