TITLE: Receiving Inventory Control Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing/Receiving

COMPENSATION: starting at $75000-$90,000

ROLE SUMMARY AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Manage the efficient handling of incoming and existing goods for the attainment of Marders business goals. Works to ensure the maintenance of adequate inventory in accordance with inventory cycles and seasonal demand. Conducts daily inventory analysis to reconcile discrepancies and ensure that on hand counts are correct. Develops and implements methods to optimize inventory control procedures and ensure that all company divisions are adequately
stocked to meet sales goals.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to improve inventory control best practices.
- Analyze inventory on hand and recommend items for targeted consumption by the Retail, Landscape and Property Care divisions.
- Conduct periodic cycle counts, verify discrepancies and report findings to Buyers/Accounting prior to adjusting on hand counts.
- Manage the Return to Inventory (RTI) Process for all job material.
- Work closely with retail management to refine best practices and ensure that point of sale staff reports issues with barcodes, item numbers and system discounts.
- Manage write-out procedures for all out of date and ‘past best’ plant material items.
- Ensure that all items have proper tags upon arrival on site and manage periodic efforts to replace failing and out of date barcoded labels.
- Schedule, organize and implement biannual physical goods inventories of all storage locations.
- Schedule, organize and implement annual tool inventory to assist the creation of the following years budget.
- Provide Buyers with detail analysis of physical inventory overage and shortfalls prior to adjusting on hand counts.
- Verify, analyze and reconcile inventory shortfalls as needed.
- Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages and ensure that stock is adequate for all company divisions and distribution channels.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Department to identify inventory overage and shortfalls in order to narrow the sales/stock replenishment gap.
- Analyze historical data and recommend minimum & maximum levels of core items to Buyers.
- Assist the Purchasing Department with forecasting demand and building schedules for structured replenishment of core items.
- Manage the organization of all stock rooms, warehouses and greenhouses.
- Manage receiving team and assist in the completion of daily receiving tasks as needed.
- Responsible for assuming the duties and responsibilities of the Receiving Manager in their absence.
- Function as a pivot between all divisions of the company, coordinating efforts to effectively meet goals and deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP)
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
- An analytical mind with strong math skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Reliable and trustworthy
