Job description
The Intake & Referral Specialist provides excellent customer service to the Energy Assistance households through answering phone calls, face-to-face interactions and virtual kiosk representation. This position helps identify what is needed to finish Energy Assistance applications and provides reasonable solutions to the household’s energy emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities Include:

Answering incoming phone calls and providing excellent customer service
Explaining program guidelines to potential clients.
Conducting phone interviews with clients to determine eligibility.
Provide callers with community resource referral information.

Meeting with household’s face-to-face and providing information about their application status and helping them complete their application.
Answering the virtual kiosk questions to providing accurate and timely information to households seeking Energy Assistance.
Explaining the program guidelines to potential clients.
Providing households with community resource referral information as needed.
Informing applicants of their rights and responsibilities.
Answering the virtual kiosk questions to providing accurate and timely information to households seeking Energy Assistance.

Acting as a liaison between the households and the Energy Assistance Staff, who are processing their application.

Mail applications
Maintaining databases (eHEAT & Laserfiche)
Logging & Scanning Applications received at site locations. Assignment of household number, and data entry into eHEAT system.
Attending Community Outreach events, as needed.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
At least of 1 year in Customer Service
Microsoft Office proficient
Read, write, and speak English fluently.
Professional written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Multilingual (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Russian
Hybrid, Full-time, 10-month Continuing Employment (End of August through the end of May), Benefits Eligible
