The Position:
The Intake Coordinator will be responsible for receiving Infusion therapy referrals from physician offices and coordinating patient insurance benefits; obtaining authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payors, ensuring all intake forms are completed, notifying patients/families about coverage and estimated financial responsibility, working closely with Pharmacy Manager and clinical team to simplify the insurance process. Knowledge of local payors and government plans very beneficial. Responsibilities include:
- Receives and coordinates all referrals to include notification of insurance providers for prior authorization and services covered.
- Responsible for the review of daily logs and notes from Case Managers to assure continuity of care, documentation of nursing process, appropriateness of intervention/action and timeliness of documentation.
- Insurance verification of both commercial and Medicaid plans
- Obtain authorizations
- Communicates with Branch Manager any information received from physician or patient about the patients care or needs.
- Documents in database, notifies appropriate Case Manager and adjusts schedules accordingly as indicated.
- Proficient with data entry, and computer skills for generation of daily office communication
- Clearance of referrals
- Input data with multiple systems ( CPR +, Insight and Citus)
- Provide out of pocket expense of therapy
- Must be able to multitask in a fast environment
- Knowledge of payer contracts
Schedule:
- Full-Time staff work 40 hours per week
- Typical business hours
- Two years experience in home health care preferred a minimum of one accepted.
- Experience with the EHR CPR+ preferred
- Experience with insurance verification and referral coordination
- Highly effective in working objectively with a diverse group of people and must demonstrate communication, organizational, administrative and office managerial skills.
- Must be a team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision
