**This position is for a rotating 12-hour schedule **

**1.0 FUNCTION**

Provide preventive maintenance on critical instruments and electrical. Replace, repair all instruments, control valves and electrical related equipment to achieve production, safety and environmental goals.

**2.0 ORGANIZATION**

Report to: Scheduler/I & E Supervisor

**3.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**

  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on instrumentation, electronic panel mounted and Fisher Provox DCS, which consists of installation of new equipment, upgrading existing equipment.

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on electrical equipment including motors, starters, relays, solenoid valves, lighting, power distribution, running conduit, replacing conduit and fittings of all types.

  • Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring consistent with specifications and local electrical codes

  • The capability to troubleshoot electrical problems and performing corrective maintenance.

  • Perform PM’s on all plant instrumentation that will ensure the accuracy and continued performance to prevent major downtime.

  • Repair plant instrumentation, which includes the repair of PH meters, gas analyzers, ORP meters, recorders, controllers, valves, transducers, transmitters (pneumatic and electronic).

  • Installing new instrumentation loops according to instrument specs and testing.

  • Maintains the workload and schedule for the facility daily to adjust for changes in work requirements.

  • Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

  • Ability to remove, install and repair control valves of varies sizes ½” - 6 “

  • Program and install VFD’s.

**4.0 HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Participate in all aspects of the safety program including safety meeting attendance and participation.

  • Assist in updating operating and emergency procedure manuals.

  • Must be able to adhere to the Company Safety Procedures.

  • Must be able to follow and perform Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Responsible for keeping PPE clean and free of defects.

  • Performs inspection and safety check before operating forklift.

  • Employees are required to wear Tyvek coveralls, steel toe footwear, protective eyewear, hearing protection and rubber gloves.

**5.0 QUALIFICATION CRITERIA**

  • Good communication skills to include verbal and written.

  • Able to follow instructions and all Standard Operating Procedures (SPO’s).

  • Interact and cooperator with plant employees and co-workers.

  • This individual must be able to multi-task efficiently and work at a fast pace.

  • Must be able to exercise judgment in determining work sequence and in the selection of proper material, tools to perform the job.

  • Employees are required to wear Tyvek coveralls, steel toe footwear and rubber gloves.

**6.0 QUALITY-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Understands and adheres to the site’s Safety Standards and Improvement Process.

  • Is fully aware of the position-specific quality assurance responsibilities.

  • Providing a responsive culture and a positive work environment.

**7.0 REQUIREMENTS**

  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or at least a three-year training program or 1-2 years in a Journeyman Instrumentation Craftsman role.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to perform shift work with some overtime, holdovers and call-outs required.

  • Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment (No beards) and protective eyewear.

  • Successfully complete any and all required training programs to include offsite training.

  • Successfully complete all required equipment certifications to include; forklift, cranes, carry decks, etc.

  • Pass physical & drug testing.

  • Ability to endure some extreme conditions relating to things such as temperatures, air quality, and sound.

**8.0 COMMENTS:**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidate should be mechanically inclined and have the ability to work well and communicate with others. This position is exposed to hazardous environmental conditions being used in the manufacturing process and must use the required PPE protocols. Hardhat and protective eyewear, hearing protection Tyvek clothing, steal toed shoes, and full-face respirator. Must be aware of exposure to hazardous moving equipment and machinery, electrical hazards, etc.

VISION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Close vision (Clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance vision (Clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color vision (Ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  • Depth perception (Three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships) X Ability to adjust (Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

You should be proficient in:

  • Creating Preventive Maintenance Plans
  • Electrical Troubleshooting Skills
  • High School / GED
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Salary info:

$39 - $41 / hr
