The School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering invites applications for one or more full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2022-2023 academic year. These appointments are fixed-term, non-tenure track, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of the School Head. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the School Head.
Instructors may be needed to teach courses in Industrial Engineering, including Engineering Economics, Probability & Statistics, and Introductory Spreadsheet Skills.

Instructors may be needed to teach courses in Industrial Engineering, including Engineering Economics, Probability & Statistics, and Introductory Spreadsheet Skills.
95% Teaching and Instruction:
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses as assigned. May also be responsible for coordination of and instruction in laboratory settings.
- Develop course materials and inform overall curriculum design, as assigned.
- Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating in person and online classroom discussions, assessing student performance, preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession, and creating an inclusive classroom (e.g., mentoring and supporting students from diverse backgrounds, fostering affirming classroom interactions across difference, and challenging structural/cultural barriers that limit movement towards social equity in engineering education and practice).
5% Service:
- Serve on relevant school, college, or university committees.
- Participate in strategic meetings to advance School educational initiatives.
- M.S. or M.A. in industrial engineering, engineering management, or related field.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
- Ph.D. in industrial engineering, engineering management, or related field.
- Experience teaching the evaluation of economic feasibility of projects using time value of money techniques at the college or university level
- Experience teaching probability and statistical techniques at the college or university level
- Experience teaching spreadsheet skills at the college or university level
- Experience with course management tools
- Experience with remote teaching
Working conditions vary depending upon courses assigned.
