Instructional Designer and Training Specialist
Job description
Under the direct supervision of the AltaMed University Manager, the Instructional Designer and Training Specialist is responsible for training analysis, design, development, and delivery, of a wide variety of training initiatives. This individual will be responsible for engaging in the full instructional design and development cycle, aligning online and instructor-led training course objectives with key business priorities.
Responsibilities:- The right candidate for this job will be able to:
- Use training resources in an innovative way to get the right information to the right person at the right time.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that learners want to take and can’t help but remember.
- Create supplemental course materials (handouts, job aids, games, etc.) that people use in their jobs and rely on.
- Hold him/herself accountable to exceptional customer service and challenge the team to do so also.
- Act as a trusted L&D partner who is willing to engage in the difficult conversations tomake sure the right thing is being done for the learner at all times.
- Use industry design standards such as ADDIE but not be afraid to innovate and try new industry methods for course development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing online and/or instructor-led training content.
- Either BS/BA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar degree required or aminimumof 12 years of experience in learning and development.
- Three to five years of successful experience in the delivery of training programs, preferably in healthcare organizations.
- Facilitation skill certification (DDI, Langevin Learning Services, etc.) preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
