AV Installation Technician II - Columbus, Ohio

Job Requirements
Ability to lift & lower items, climb ladders, work at/above drop ceilings and use tools.
A clean driving record is required by our insurance company.
Drug Screening and background checks are part of our employment process.

Summary:
The Installation Technician II performs installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and metal fabrication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and metal fabrication.
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks.
• Perform basic mechanical fabrication and equipment mounting.
• Perform basic rack populations (with or without provided rack elevations), basic rack wiring, labelling, and dressing.
• Perform projector and screen support structure installations.
• Test point to point functionality of systems.
• Mentor Level I Technicians.
• Track, manage and secure all associated equipment and tools on jobsite.
• Communicate daily job site status to the Project Manager
• Work with manufacturers to initiate return material authorizations as needed.
• Review equipment list with customer upon delivery.
• Travel to various job sites required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Effective communication with employees, customers and colleagues.
• Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control .
• Ability to lead 2-day or less projects not requiring commissioning.
• Knowledge and use of specific test equipment for required applications.

Experience:

• Minimum of 18-months of audiovisual installation experience preferred.
• Formal education in AV or related field preferred.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

External Training:

• Avixa Quick Start to the audiovisual industry .
• Avixa CTS General Certification – within 6 months.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.
• Extron AV Associate Certification.
• Crestron CTI Technician Certification .
• AMX Intro to Networking for AV Professionals.
• Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Radiant Driving Privileges Standards.
