Purpose of the Job

The Innovation Analyst II explores, evaluates and tests new innovations that can drive significant and positive change for the organization. Projects involve measuring and analyzing current processes, understanding the key drivers of member & employee empathy in products, service and processes, improving operational efficiency, productivity, performance, and identifying and implementing new processes and innovations for members and employees The Innovation Analyst II will also function as a team leader to provide direction, instructions and guidance to other Innovation Analysts in project and daily work activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Measures and analyzes processes and procedures and offers solutions to increase efficiency, productivity, and performance.

Provides direction and guidance to other team members on assigned projects and daily work activities.

Researches existing member experience practices in terms of people, processes, and technology.

Maps member experience across organizational touchpoints.

Uses Design Thinking practices and methods to document customer journeys, empathy maps, stakeholder maps; serve as a facilitator of teams for assigned design challenges.

Identifies ‘opportunity spaces’ to design & build differentiated outcomes for members and employees.

Actively manages progress of assigned projects to ensure execution of expected results and recommends corrective actions, where necessary.

Leads cross-functional teams to build and execute business plans, developing relationships that bridge organizational boundaries and include individuals at multiple levels.

Assists in pilot process to bring new innovations to market, build prototypes, test concepts, measure results, gather feedback, and adjust course as needed.

Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate these insights into current and future solutions.

Orchestrates and works with business units to ensure consistency across all member interaction channels.

Assists on creating a performance and insights framework to identify opportunities and quantify return on investment (ROI).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technical expertise in statistics, financial analysis, work measurement, operations management data analysis and benchmarking is required
  • Must be able to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to develop and communicate complex information orally and in written format
  • Must be comfortable working, interacting, and reporting with all product stakeholders
  • Must be able to manage a large number of critical requests and deliver and answer accordingly
  • Must be able to develop and monitor key performance indicators
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must be adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Must have ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required
  • Must have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong administrative skills required
  • Must have ability to make decisions and work independently
  • Must be able to evaluate systems and procedures, implementing efficiency enhancements
  • Must have ability to understand all business processes within the Credit Union
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Must be able to work in a general office environment
  • Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required
  • Must be able to complete all assignments with minimal supervision
  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s members

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 1-2 years management consulting, corporate strategy, innovation and/or analysis experience required
  • Experience with Design Thinking methods and practices required
  • Minimum of 2 years in a project management or process improvement role preferred
  • Financial background with customer service experience is preferred
  • Prior work experience in Design Thinking, Lean Six Sigma, process engineering, business process consulting, management consulting is preferred
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred
