Process Technician for Injection Molding Job Posting
Job Description
The role is required to maintain the control of processes in injection molding. The role also provides support to the execution of the production schedule including anything from component changes, setups and startups for plastic. Troubleshooting and correcting of molding problems and assisting and training of other employees.
The role reports to the Process Engineer and has a communication relationship with Team Leaders, Operators, Mold Technician, Tooling Manager, Operations Manager, Production Supervisor and Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Keeping molds and machines in good working condition (i.e. inspection, maintenance, cleaning).
· Able to lead and manage a Team in a professional and Safe manner.
· Programming injection molding machines, troubleshooting processing and/or part issues, minimization of cycle times.
· Ability to adapt to issues and problems accordingly in a timely manner
· Ability to maintain 5s work environment.
· Completely starts up and troubleshoots all production machines, secondary and auxiliary equipment within any given area of the production department.
· Able to manage a centralized material vacuum system.
· Maintains housekeeping and cleanliness of the production department as instructed by management as well as press upkeep as assigned.
· Has the ability to learn and perform and identify the blending and testing process prior to materials being put into production.
· Is reliable, dependable. Able to fill in when others are absence – Team player.
The above list of responsibilities describes normal working conditions, but the Supervisor may assign this person to duties not listed when production requirements dictate or when there is not enough work in the regular classification to fill out the workday, as well as relieve operators for meal & rest breaks.
Technical Knowledge Skills & Experience
· Must have experience in injection molding including machine adjustment, troubleshooting and mold installation and removal.
· Must have fork lift training/experience.
· Statistical Process Control – Experience with scientific molding theory, product development and documentation processes preferred.
· Knowledge of plastic materials and processes.
· Experience with hand tools is required.
· Basic knowledge of disassembly, assembly and preventative maintenance of molds and machines.
Physical Requirements
This person must have good motor skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 to 100 lbs periodically. The role requires standing for up to 8 hours, lifting, turning, twisting, reaching, pulling, and pushing regularly.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
