EFI Automotive in Elkmont, AL has an exciting opportunity for an Injection Molding Engineer! A successful candidate for this position will possess a high degree of customer focus, a strong sense of collaboration, a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess well rounded skills in injection molding and a solid background in team and individual problem solving, technical communication, lean/Six Sigma manufacturing practices, and process documentation. The candidate will be responsible for defining, specifying, implementing, and validating technical solution related to Plastic Injection process and Molds to the manufacturing teams (molds, injection machines, peripherals, and robots).

Ensure operational link between project development and production in compliance with quality standards, costs, and lead-times, adhering Electricfil guidelines and procedures.

Job Duties:

• Manage and coordinate molds qualification trials and all activities related to the development of the overmolding process (metrology, validations, machine installations, etc)
• Analyze metrologies and define mold revision with help of Quality, Design, Metrology departments and/or suppliers.
• Manage mold and injection process development and validation.
• Provide technical support to Production during FRP (Full-Rate Production).
• Train Production technician and maintenance in mold and process.
• Provide robust mold and process technical documentation.
• Evaluate supplier's performance after each project.
• Develop and/or rollout and ensure adherence to internal plastic process Golden Rules.
• Closely monitor new technologies or improvement in plastic process and tooling.
• Provide technical support to local development and production teams.
• Supporting Problem solving and continuous improvement projects and events

REQUIRED:

• 
  2-5 years' experience in injection molding;
• AA or Technical degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• 
  Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
• Fundamental understanding of Rheology and Moldflow
• Thorough understanding and experience with programming molding machines, robotics, PLC's, temperature controllers, and other machine controls.
• Ability to research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment.
• Proficient in CAD software
• Ability to apply Lean techniques to streamline and improve all manufacturing processes in support of part production and quality manufacturing goals.
• A team player that can work well under constrained deadlines and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
• Hands on experience with products that require welding, machining, fabrication and assembly.
• Must possess excellent technical judgment and able to set logical action plans for process trouble shooting and risk mitigation.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
