Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Develops, maintains, and implements information security standards, procedures, and guidelines for COMSEC and CRYPTO hardware, applications and databases. Ensures that COMSEC and CRYPTO systems obtain and achieve Authorization to Operate via the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Provides full-lifecycle Step 1-6 in order to ensure cyber security of client systems to identify, mitigate, and prevent cyber threats.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).
  • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports for obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. This includes process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections, and periodic audits.
  • Focal point for the implementation of required government policy (e.g., RMF), and makes recommendations for ATO on process tailoring.
  • Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and recommends additional security requirements and safeguards where required.
  • Supports the formal Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
  • Periodically conducts a review of each system’s audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.
  • Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermining long-range targets.
  • Provides advice and counsel to the organization in area of expertise.


Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree and typically 10+ years of related professional experience. An advanced degree may be preferred at this level. Non-degreed incumbents must meet equivalency guidelines established for designated job family.

Salary Range:

$100,400.00 - $175,700.00
