We are looking for an experienced information security professional to grow and mature the information security function at Priority Ambulance. You will be working with the Vice President of I.T. to define and architect a security program, leading a small team to execute it, while being very “hands-on” throughout the process and in ongoing operations.

Description:
The Information security director is responsible for the architecture, deployment and day-to-day management of information security people, policies, processes, and technology across the enterprise. The director will assess the enterprise’s risks and vulnerabilities, develop strategies to manage risk and protect information and systems, deploy technology, tools, and processes in support of these strategies, and manage the operation of information security.
The Information security director is accountable for leading security team members that manage and operate security technology, monitor, and respond to events, and ensure compliance with regulation, law, and contractual information security requirements.
The information security director reports to the Vice President of Information Technology and is a member of the Information Technology leadership team.
Job Functions:
- Provides leadership in establishing and delivering the Cybersecurity strategy and leads or participates in the design, direction, and coordination of cybersecurity projects, systems, or applications
- Architect, deploy deliver and manage key technology security platforms and processes
- Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and maintain secure technology solutions and processes
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to contribute to the Priority Ambulance risk management framework
- Lead cross-functional team(s) during security incidents and investigations, ensure root cause analysis is undertaken and input suggested approaches to deal with lessons identified
- Oversee the performance of the annual HIPAA Security and Privacy assessment as well as other risk and validation assessments
- Responsible for monitoring and managing actions plans originating from internal and external IT audits
- Lead and manage teams to deliver business outcomes, manage quality of delivered services, and mentor Cybersecurity team members
- Provide information security awareness training to organization personnel
- Assess current technology architecture for vulnerabilities, weaknesses and for possible upgrades or improvement
- Serve as the focal point of contact for the information security team and the customer or organization
- Communicate information security goals and new programs effectively with other department managers within the organization
- Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases.
- Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization.
- Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and compatibility with enterprise environment.
- Creates, documents, revised and maintains all security policies.
- Keeps fully abreast of trends and changing technologies as they relate to IT and Network Engineering and Information Security fields. Engages in continuous process improvement.
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
- Ability to travel as needed within the US.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work
- 7+ years of Security and Systems experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA
- Preferred industry qualifications - CISSP / CISA / CRISC / HCISSP / CISM
- Broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems and a deep understanding of the inherent security risks associated with these technologies
- Experience in building and maintaining security systems
- Ability to present, both written and verbal, on security topics to a non-technical audience and describe the business value of security
- Ability to understand and assess technology systems and applications from both a technical and business function perspective
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and influence teams; and self-motivated
- Proven work experience as a system security engineer and systems engineer.
- IT forensic investigations and incident handling.
- Experience working in a healthcare related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of Cloud Architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and Security Solutions
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel both internally and externally; e.g. leadership, executives, clients, vendors, and agencies.
- Ability to work in and constructively contribute to team work environment and meet stringent deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and follow through including the ability to document work.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information is essential.
