The Infection Preventionist/ Employee Health (RN) is responsible for overseeing the quality of resident and patient care as it relates to the investigation, control, and prevention of infection. This includes directing, delegating, coordinating or performing some of the following duties:

· Performs surveillance to identify individual infections in residents, patients and staff and to identify clusters of infection in a timely manner

· Tracks and trends in infection within the facility and report specific infections/clusters to appropriate agencies, as required by state and local regulations

· Identifies infection control issues (e.g., those identified during environmental rounds) and make recommendations for corrective action

· Prepares the agenda for and chair the (Infection Prevention Committee) IPC

· Monitors infection prevention and control practices and employee compliance

· Develops and revises infection prevention and control policies and procedures and maintain the infection prevention and control manual for all departments

· Facilitates outbreak investigations and initiate control measures

· Provides orientation and continuing education related to infection prevention and control for all staff

· Provides infection prevention consultation to all departments

· Actively participates in quality improvement programs

· Directs short- and long-range planning activities for infection prevention and control

· Performs any other infection prevention and control duties that will improve resident and patient care

· Coordinates Employee Health tasks

· Performs and Annual infection prevention risk assessment and develop infection prevention plan to be approved by the Infection Prevention and Quality Committees as well as the Board of Directors

Qualifications:

· * Proven strategic-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to change.
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have a valid RN license
• Be willing to complete Infection Control certification/ training
• Completes other duties/ tasks as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.94 - $36.10 per hour
