Job Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for the installation and rebuilding machinery and miscellaneous equipment and parts.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

· . The Maintenance Mechanic will perform all necessary repairs and/or modifications to plant machinery or equipment as required to maintain optimum availability. Repairs may include rebuilding/replacement of machinery, gearboxes, bearings; fabrication to include cutting/welding of metal plates for chutes, structures, etc.

o Perform Preventative Maintenance procedures as assigned

o Follow all Safety procedures while performing duties to include but not limited to LOTO, wearing appropriate PPE for assigned duties

· Perform Level 2 or higher maintenance on equipment in area of responsibility as needed

· Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility as per Imerys Refractory Minerals standards

· Perform any additional duties as described Maintenance Supervisor

Skills and Attributes Requirements

· Must be able to effectively communicate both orally or written

· Must be able to work shifts as per schedule

· Must be able to work in hot and cold weather conditions.

· Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted

· Will be required to wear all necessary PPE

· Will require basic computer skills necessary to access/write emails, basic word documents, complete work requests

Education/Experience Requirements

· Must have a High School Diploma or GED

· Two years experience in industrial maintenance and repairs preferred

Environment

· While performing the duties of this job; the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and materials used in the process.

· Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.

· Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.

· Approximately 100% plant environment.
