Industrial Maintenance Instructor (Part-Time)
Job description
Position provides direct instruction to industrial maintenance students. Students will include continuing education students from industry as well as college students. Instructor will provide all state-regulatory required instruction in accordance with NCCCS and SPCC faculty policy. This position is based at the Tyson Center for Technology and reports to the Director of Professional Trade Programs.
- Provide instruction in the Industrial Maintenance program for students as well as business and industry partners.
- Function without direct supervision in a team environment with the ability to support a cohesive departmental atmosphere.
- Evaluate and update curriculum, educational materials, and methods to be used in the subject matter and make recommendations for approval and delivery
- Position may involve day, evening and weekend classes that are delivered both on and off campus, and through distance education methods.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Career Development and Continuing Education
- Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field from an accredited institution and 5+ years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance position or 10+ years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance
- Expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics theory and application
- Expertise in motor controls theory and application
- Expertise in PLCs programing theory and application
- Expertise in electrical and electronics theory and application
- Proficiency in all MS Office products
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Experience teaching at the Community College level, and with online course delivery methods
- Experience interacting with manufacturing sites to deliver courses on a customized basis as needed
