Job title: Industrial Engineer

Work Location: 1830 Stearman Avenue, Hayward, CA 94545

Division/Department: Production

Reports to: Operations Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate all manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
• Support the development of manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
• Develop work cell layout designs for maximum efficiency.
• Document work instructions and train employees for employee development.
• Recommend design approaches considering specifications, product or component performance requirements, and manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, reduce waste, and minimize costs.
• Working knowledge and understanding of how to set up a punch press operation and various production machines.
• Communicate machinery breakdowns and coordinate with service companies and maintenance to solve any issues.
• Selection, justification, purchase, validation, installation, and training of new capital equipment required for new or improved manufacturing processes.
• Support ERP implementation requirements.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and related software
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Preferred:

• Robot programming
• AutoCAD
• Amada laser cutting systems (programming and nesting)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Working Conditions:

• Temperature controlled environment indoors; office setting
• General office noise levels
• Sitting 50 %
• Standing 25%/ Walking 25 %
• Vision – The ability to see details at close range within a few feet of the observer
• Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week, but overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines or quotas
• Weekend Availability
