Coordinates and conducts monthly Regional Youth Advisory Council meetings

Maintains communications and working relationship with appropriate entity contacts regarding current Independent Living activities in the State

Primary contact for the State of Texas Independent Living Program Director

Attends DFPS Independent Living meetings

Maintains contact with DFPS Independent Living liaisons, as needed

Coordinates all activities for State computer camps

Coordinates and conduct tours to post-secondary education sites

Obtains and disburses resource and scholarship information

Trains staff regarding Independent Living transition paperwork and timelines, as needed

Writes and distributes Independent Living newsletter

Serves as resource for workers regarding specialty areas for youth leaving the child welfare system

Provides direct services to youth leaving the child welfare system as requested by supervisors and/or area directors

Seeks and identifies grant opportunities

Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms

Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels

Ensure clients’ rights are protected

Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures

Education

Required
  • Bachelors of Human Services or better
