An exciting opportunity is now available as an Independent Contractor (IC) with Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience at Worksite Labs. This growing laboratory is fully accredited and prides itself on delivering exceptional service. Job Summary

The IC will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the clinical lab which will keep the position exciting and new every day, including overseeing specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting along with maintaining the analyzers in the lab to ensure high quality and precise results.

Scope of Work

• Performs all testing procedures in areas within the section, including Blood Bank and Microbiology
• Works in all areas of the lab (e.g., Chemistry, Coagulation/UA, and Hematology)
• Performs duties accurately, efficiently, and independently, meeting the standards of all departments
• Initiates QC failure corrective action, participates in inventory control, performs instrument preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots instrument and reagent problems
• Performs molecular and non-molecular laboratory tests according to written laboratory procedure, and evaluate test results for accuracy and clinical significance
• Reports and releases test results in accordance with company policies and procedures. Tests include various molecular assays/panels for pathogen detection
• Actively participates in the planning and execution of analytical and clinical validations for new molecular/clinical tests
• Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance is maintained
• Ensures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and test systems are properly functioning
• Adheres to all standards (CAP and CLIA) along with any state and local regulatory requirements
• Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies, documents all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
• Documents all corrective actions are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
• Maintains cost-effective levels of supplies and reagents
• Operates, calibrates, cleans, and maintains equipment used in testing
• Manages relationships for all third-party services and vendors related to site operations in partnership to clinical site supervisor

Required Experience and Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology, including 26 hours of biology or chemistry coursework from an accredited college or university
• At least one (1) year of laboratory training and/or experience in high complexity testing, six months of which must be in the required specialty or specialties; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that meets the applicable local requirements for a laboratory technical supervisor in the required area

**Part-time shifts available: Monday-Saturday, 3:00PM-8:00PM**

Job Types: Part-time, Local contract

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
