The Job/What You'll Do:
The Implementation Specialist will lead the onboarding experience for enterprises and large relationships transitioning their practice to AssetMark. This person will work closely with the AssetMark relationship consulting team to understand the client’s requirements, define the client’s operating model with AssetMark, coordinate all aspects of the conversion to AssetMark, and ensure smooth handoff to the operating teams. The right candidate will have excellent relationship and communication skills and the ability to solve analytical and sales engineering problems. A successful candidate has keen awareness of AssetMark’s operating model, the AssetMark advisor and client experience, industry trends, and best practices for book-level transitions.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to any of our office locations in either Concord, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Encino, CA; Chicago, IL; or Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the onboarding experience for large clients that require cross-functional orchestration to execute.
- Develop a deep understanding of AssetMark’s affiliation models, agreement structure, products, service and operations model, and custodial capabilities and services.
- Perform diligence to understand needs, provide details on how the AssetMark platform functions and predict any operating challenges for prospective clients.
- Define the optimal client operating model at AssetMark, including a custody onboarding strategy and a client tailored implementation plan.
- During implementation, coordinate training, conversion execution, client paperwork and disclosure delivery, coordination with client’s systems and vendors, porting of performance history, and issue tracking and resolution all according to the client-tailored implementation plan.
- Identify and coordinate the execution of any needed accommodations to the AssetMark operating model
- Provide a smooth transition to business-as-usual operation with AssetMark operating teams that corresponds to the end of the implementation team assistance
- Identify and develop business cases for new capabilities and services to ensure AssetMark’s implementation capabilities are competitive in the industry.
- Lead a backlog grooming process that identifies implementation opportunities and defines the best fit client experience for all opportunities based upon the resources available.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across a variety of business processes
- Ability to understand broader business issues that go across business functions.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, report and communicate data effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Project Management experience
- Custody and Operations experience
- Previous management experience
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of Financial Advisory Industry experience.
- 2+ years’ experience doing implementations, transitions, or similar experience in the financial advisory industry.
- 2+ years in a direct relationship-facing role with clients.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams in a variety of roles bringing strong facilitative leadership to projects and processes
