Job Summary:

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the ICU setting.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
• Assists nurses with patients on the unit, stocking supplies in patient rooms, providing water, getting rooms prepared for admits, placing patients on monitor, obtaining VS.
• Performs unit secretarial duties.
• Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff.
• Initiates directions from physicians and nursing staff.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies, procedures and standards.
• Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization.
• Remains flexible to changing systems.
• Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits.
• Treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

Skill/Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current BCLS certification
• Current 2nd year nursing student (preferred)
