The Aspen School District seeks an IB PYP Coordinator. To support the needs of the District's IB implementation, we will be hiring a PYP Coordinator from the pool of applicants.

Position Title: *IB PYP Coordinator
Department: District Office
Reports to: Superintendent/Principal
Classification: Certified Non-Exempt (40 hours per week, overtime-eligible) (Will still maintain classes in assigned school.
Contract Period: 9 Month (185) days with some variance depending on the year)
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule

I: Position Summary*
Oversight and coordination of all IB-related activities including the PYP Exhibition, teacher training, a program of inquiry and unit development, and student evaluation.
The role of the IB PYP Coordinator is to plan and oversee the implementation and management of the program. Through coordination with teachers, administrators, and the IB regional office, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the full delivery of the curriculum including documentation, reporting, analysis, and evaluation.

II: Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

Assume responsibility for the implementation and development of the PYP curriculum within the spirit of the school’s mission statement
- Ensuring that all IBO databases about the school are up to date and deadlines and procedures from IBO are met. Serve as a member of the school’s Leadership Team helping to develop the strategic plan, leading the accreditation and review processes
- Initiate professional training programs that will enable the teaching staff to successfully introduce and develop the IB programs in their classroom successfully; the training will include professional learning communities, interdisciplinary unit development, and current pedagogy and assessment practices
- Provide instructional leadership to individual teachers through mentoring, peer support, goal evaluations, and team-teaching opportunities
- Collaborate with PYP, MYP, and DP coordinators within the district to ensure a successful IB program continuum Facilitate budgetary requests for training and curricular materials to the Principal
- Collaboratively review and revise policies that are aligned with the values of IPS and the IB; such policies will include language, assessment, inclusion, and academic honesty
- Ensure PYP requirements are met by developing transdisciplinary units, POI revisions, scope and sequence (pacing) documentation, assessment documentation, Exhibition guidelines, and the integration of ATLs Attend parent, grade level and program meetings, host informational sessions, attend and lead job-a-likes, and visit partnering schools and businesses
- Assist in scheduling processes and timetabling
- Implement and apply educational technology software and hardware including student resources, asynchronous learning platforms, laptops and production focused software Communicate with all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, administrators, district personnel) regarding IB procedures, requirements, and policies, events, and opportunities, and current progress of the programs via meetings, letters, blogging, submission of articles to school newsletters, and additional publications Lead/Assist the IB accreditation and review processes; provide leadership and guidance during the planning and development for site visits
- Facilitate presentations, productions, events, and/or activities as appropriate that showcase student learning and achievement (specific expectations to be detailed during the interview process)
- Additional duties as assigned by the Principal
III: Minimum Qualifications
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- LICENSE: Must hold a valid Colorado Teacher’s License and have a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching.
- EXPERIENCE: Experience and training in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) previous experience as an IB PYP coordinator preferred
