About IAC Teens programs - Activism and Eitanim

IAC Activism division is dedicated to combating anti-Zionism and antisemitism both online and on the ground. The main pillars of activity are the Activism Training Hub and Community Based Activism, which inspire pro-Israel activism nationwide. Activism touches multiple groups across the IAC community such as teens, students, and community leaders, and maintains strong relationships with pro-Israel and Jewish organizations across the country.

IAC Eitanim is a leadership and entrepreneurship program that brings together Jewish and Israeli-American teens. Leading entrepreneurs and senior executives mentor teens trough an immersive, innovative, project-based learning experience that strengthens participants’ connection to Israel and Jewish identity. Throughout the program, teens develop and improve their soft skills, while gaining real-world entrepreneurial experience that will give them tools to thrive in school and beyond.

The IAC Teen Engagement Manager reports to the IAC Sr. Program Manager.


Job Purpose:

The Teen Engagement Manager’s goal is to be the professional Activism and Eitanim resource for the L.A. region.

They will be leading all activism-based activities and efforts including but not restricted to: Activism committees, training sessions in the community, events, online campaigns and local mobilization efforts. In addition to the regional work, projects & responsibilities are to be expected as part of the national activism team efforts.

In addition, the Teen Engagement Manager will work to expand IAC’s community impact and strategic investments in the LA region and will be responsible for organizing and managing Eitanim program & events in the L.A region, as for representing the organization and increasing IAC’s awareness in the area.

The Teen Engagement Manager must sustain close relationships with members of the national team, the local stakeholders in the region and partner communities & organizations in the pro-Israel space.

The IAC Teen Engagement Manager reports to the IAC Sr. Program Manager.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Activism

  • Lead and establish steering Activism Committee and handling relationships with committee members.
  • Training and educating community members through Activism activities.
  • Creation of an engaging activist community through events, workshops, and mobilization efforts.
  • Responsibilities for all teen engagement in the Los Angeles area.
  • Management of strategic partnerships and coalitions. Establishment of new relationships with Jewish Day Schools, campuses, synagogues, community groups and pro-Israel organizations.
  • Recruitment and cultivation of a local community of volunteers who want to engage in pro-Israel and/or teen activities.
  • Growing current activist pool by converting training participants into activists.
  • Management and operation of online assets, e.g. Facebook pages, Twitter, Act.il platform, etc.
  • Monitoring the region for antisemitism and anti-Israel behavior and mobilizing the community accordingly.
  • Collaboration with relevant IAC programs, e.g. Gvanim, Eitanim (teens), Mishelanu (students) etc.
  • Participation in both local and national team efforts to achieve organization goals.
  • Serving as a knowledgeable resource to community members in need, attend Israel-related events and provide support and consultation when needed on Activism related matters.

Eitanim

  • Program planning and implementation – Responsible for implementing Eitanim program for the L.A. area students; marketing the program in all channels (social media, flyers, presentations in schools and at different relevant programs/institutions, collaborations with relevant partners and more);
  • Maintain ongoing communication with IAC Eitanim Managers / coordinators / facilitators. Maintain ongoing training sessions with facilitators, participate in all groups and provide feedback and guidance to facilitators
  • Ongoing communication with the program participants, mentors and parents.
  • Manage and organize hackathons, demo days and open houses.
  • Participate in IAC Eitanim staff meetings, training, and National Hackathons.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities.
  • 3 years’ experience in the field of Israel activism, or antisemitism education.
  • Experience working with teens
  • Proven project management capabilities and success in execution of complex strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the pro-Israel activism landscape, including community mobilization.
  • Experience in public speaking and group dynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills – writing is a plus.
  • Strong PR/marketing capabilities, including proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Connection to Israel and passion about advocating for her.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, under pressure, as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent technological skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Social Media Platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc).
  • Fluent in English and Hebrew – full comprehension, speaking, writing, reading.
