POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Technology (I.T.) Administrator oversees the development, implementation, and use of technology throughout ProMed under the supervision of the department director. The I.T. Administrator’s areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, including determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions, and leading ProMed-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology. The I.T. Administrator is responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of all technology systems that support ProMed’s customers as well as end users. The I.T. Administrator is expected to learn emerging technologies and resolve any issues involved in integrating new technologies with existing systems. The I.T. Administrator is a key technical resource, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects. The I.T. Administrator works closely with the I.T. Director and Senior Management in evaluating current systems and aligning business objectives with the strategy for technology. The I.T. Administrator ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages the deployments, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrades and support of all I.T. systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, and software applications;
  • Provides expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance;
  • Develops standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to I.T. staff and to end users;
  • Keeps current with the latest technologies and assists the I.T. Director determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements;
  • Provides end user services, including help desk and technical support services;
  • Assists in the management of financial aspects of the I.T. department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review;
  • Responsible for monitoring and oversight of daily, monthly, and quarterly reports from network vendors;
  • In collaboration with I.T. management, develops and implements all I.T. policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, purchasing, and service provision;
  • Manages servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment;
  • Manages telecommunications infrastructure and development plans, projects, policies and procedures;
  • Negotiates and administers vendor, outsource, and consultant contracts and service agreements;
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves complex hardware problems on ProMed computer systems; performs advanced hardware repairs, maintenance, technical assistance, and supports on a range of PC computers and peripherals;
  • Provides trouble-shooting support for escalated software and hardware problems; coordinates vendor assistance when required;
  • Installs and maintains desktop computer hardware; including computers, monitors, printers, modems, and other computer equipment;
  • Responds to after-hours system problem calls; travel to other company locations as needed;
  • Provides technical assistance, support, and trouble-shooting in the resolution of system communications failures and conflicts;
  • Reviews, prioritizes, and processes problem reports; documents the progress of projects;
  • Maintain systems compliance with ProMed security policies and procedures;
  • Provides strategic planning information to I.T. management and senior management as requested;
  • I.T. team leader for disaster recovery;
  • Reviews existing and composes new policies as needed, subject to review by I.T. management and senior management;
  • Meets expectations of regular, reliable attendance;
  • Other Duties As Needed: Any other duties and tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related technology degree;
  • At minimum five (5) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; directly related higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience;
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Windows experience;
  • Experience in SQL database administration and Exchange Administration;
  • 5+ years of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 experience;
  • Experience installing and maintaining VMWare Virtual Environments;
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of complex computer hardware and software issues;
  • Ability to provide advanced technical assistance and comprehensive problem resolution to end users;
  • Ability to install and configure computer systems, hardware, and peripherals;
  • Commitment to continuous improvement company-wide;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal; professional, courteous and friendly personality; clearly conveys ideas and information and receives information effectively;
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time-sensitive skills;
  • Ability to create positive working relationships with a diverse group of people including gender, ethnicity, age, and cultural and skill level differences;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred:
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
