The Human Resources Systems Analyst oversees, supports, and maintains HR systems, analyzes HR data and develops reports while ensuring data integrity. This position serves as project lead for implementation of enhancements and upgrades for existing systems and applications. The incumbent will provide ongoing support to benefits, compensation, employee relations and talent management functions.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

  • Maintains HR systems applications and makes recommendations for system enhancements for all existing HR software
  • Maintains tracking system for college's job openings and status changes. Responsible for budget and position code assignment as first-level approver for requisitions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports or queries using appropriate reporting tools; assists in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs
  • Creates and maintains positions in human capital management system (HCM) and integrated solution OrgPublisher, to include assigning job code, reporting structure, department and division, budget code, etc. Determines and assigns standard occupational classification codes to positions. Work closely with financial services to ensure accuracy of funding information
  • Responsible for the creation and dissemination of federal, state, and North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) mandated reports including IPEDS report and staff information report
  • Serves as administrator for the college’s time management system and maintains workflows for payroll processing by resolving system issues
  • Serves as administrator for leave management system, request reroutes, approval of outstanding requests and updates of approval flows

Performs regular audits to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data entered and develops and schedules audit reports for end-users

Designs and delivers analytics and visualizations to leadership in support of continuous improvement, strategic planning, and decision-making processes (i.e., HR metrics, turnover analysis, scorecards, etc.).

Coordinates HR project teams and serves as key liaison with IT, third parties and other stakeholders on software implementation and enhancements

Manages projects for HR systems and automation of business processes and workflows, to include planning, configuring, testing, and implementing solutions to meet project objectives

Responsible for human capital management (HCM) system bi-annual disaster data recovery and monthly patch testing and sign-off

Serves as a member on the Data Governance Committee which is responsible for making decisions and providing oversight and recommendations for data policies, development of processes, data protection, data privacy, data sharing, classification codes, retention, information usage, data stewardship, and institution-wide change management

Maintains automated HR processes and workflow solutions through Microsoft SharePoint

Partners with HR functional areas to define and identify business requirements and potential automated solutions, then works with IT to further refine solution, develop, test, and implement

Ensures all releases are appropriately tested prior to migration to production

Provides demonstrations of new functionality, new systems, and prototypes of new solutions to HR and/or other end-users. Develop user procedures, guidelines, and documentation

Processes reorganizational changes in HCM and applicant tracking system (ATS), such as updating job titles, department and division names, approval flows, and user permissions

Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Broad knowledge of basic theories and principles of human resources and HR data systems

Knowledge of state, federal and local laws and regulations governing human resources

Solid mathematics, critical thinking skills and strong ability to focus on detail, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy Software implementation experience

Experience compiling data and running complex reports

Ability to work efficiently under time constraints; ability to multi-task, and problem solve

Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Ability to work independently and autonomously

Advanced experience in Excel, intermediate experience in Word and PowerPoint

Experience with a HRIS and a report writing software, preferably Colleague and Informer

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Experience with testing configuration and trouble-shooting

Strong analytical and project management skills


Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Five years of experience as a Human Resources System Analyst or highly technical role in HR

Project management experience

Preferences:

Experience as a Human Resources generalist
