THE OPPORTUNITY

Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS) Human Resources Department is seeking individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources with an emphasis in Learning and Organizational Development. Those who possess exceptional organizational, planning and analytical skills are encouraged to apply.

OCERS LOD (Learning and Organizational Development) HR Staff Assistant performs a variety functions with a high level of critical thinking and project management. This position requires software skills relating to records management and employee tracking as it relates to all aspects of learning and development. The individual who assumes the position will be primarily responsible for training records, analytics, requests, and internal customer service. This role provides the opportunity to learn schematics and practical applications in LOD. It is a prominent role with high visibility and the need for savvy communication throughout the organization.

In addition, this position will be assigned unique projects and will require:

  • Experience in the County LMS - eureka
  • Experience drafting Excel spreadsheets and produce chart visuals
  • Experience with sending timely emails through Microsoft Outlook
  • A comprehensive understanding of Agile project management
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral/written communication and decision-making skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION :

Two years of experience, which would demonstrate the knowledge and abilities, defined below under core competencies. Successful completion of accredited college or university courses in a discipline used in government programs may be substituted for the experience requirement based on three-semester units or equivalent equaling three months of experience.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE

Qualifications Appraisal Panel | Oral Interview
A Qualification Appraisal Panel of job knowledge experts will interview and evaluate each candidate's responses to a series of structured questions designed to elicit candidate's qualifications for the job. Candidate's responses to the structured questions should be thorough, detailed and complete. Only the most successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list.

After all the test procedures have been completed OCERS will establish an eligible list for the OCERS location only.
