We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join VOAOK. The HR Generalist is primarily responsible for assisting and supporting all of the functions of the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to recruiting, employment, orientation, training, benefits, employee relations, compensation, and compliance with all applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.

  • Serve as liaison for recruiting efforts to include attending/hosting job fairs and managing the employment process. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job- related requirements. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  • Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce. Schedule and enroll employees in on-site training classes.
  • Administer various employee benefit programs.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management and/or related field or equivalent work experience as determined by the Director of Human Resources.
  • Competent user of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Must be an intermediate user of MS Excel.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Excellent customer service skills.


Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Basic Human Resources working experience.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, subtotals, auto filters, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with companies that provide supports to persons with developmental disabilities and/or not-for-profit organizational environments.
  • Payroll experience.
