Job description
The Human Resources Generalist provides a full range of HR services to all organizational levels of the assigned business unit(s) and is a steward of Safe Fleet’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Reporting to the business unit’s HR Director, this role is the first HR point of contact for teams located at our Houston, TX facility, as well as for a significant number of remote leaders and employees, dispersed throughout the USA.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding HR support for Leaders and Employees of Safe Fleet.
- Coordinate annual processes such as Performance Reviews, Merit Increases, Bonus Payouts, etc.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely HRIS data input and communication for new hires, terminations, benefits activities, payroll deductions, garnishments, and any other changes to employee information that impact payroll.
- Champion organizational messages, priorities and initiatives; driving integration of Safe Fleet’s Mission, Vision and Values in all departments and at all levels.
- Manage day to day employee relations, partnering with managers and employees to resolve issues and provide appropriate coaching and counseling.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for new and temporary employees.
- Manage all aspects of benefits administration for assigned group(s).
- Develop and deliver training content for Leaders and Employees, based on organizational priorities
- Plan and orchestrate employee events throughout the calendar year, to foster feelings of inclusion, belonging and appreciation.
- Enforce company policies as needed.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation, OSHA Logs and Safety requirements.
- Assure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Support recruitment activities by assisting to develop job descriptions, monitoring job postings, assisting to screen candidates, scheduling and attending interviews and ensuring timely feedback from interviewers, as/when needed, in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Contribute to ongoing development of Safe Fleet’s Human Resources systems and processes by contributing suggestions and participating on project teams.
- Manage vendor relationships for building maintenance services.
Requirements:
Ideal Prior Experience and Skills
- 1-3 years’ Human Resources or HR Coordinator experience
- Experience in training, recruitment, employee relations/coaching, performance management and employee communications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of administrative procedures, including maintenance of personnel files.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA and record retention
- Experience with accident investigations, OSHA Compliance, and Safety programs.
- Experience orchestrating employee engagement events, celebrations and activities.
- Proficient user of HRIS, ATS and MS Office applications.
- Ability to work in-office at our Houston, TX facility, on a full-time basis.
