PGI has a current full-time, exempt job opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist (HRG) in our Operations Office in Herndon, VA, San Antonio, TX, and Columbia, MD. These positions will report to the Director of Human Resources (DHR).
The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will assist with the many functions of the HR Department to include recruitment, screening candidates, interviewing, assist with pre-hire administrative duties, onboarding, training, performance management, development, and off-boarding.
Job Description:

  • Assist with the recruitment and on-boarding processes to include screening candidates, scheduling, interviewing, and extending contingent offers/onboarding packets.
  • Maintains, updates, enters information into recruitment trackers, employment files, and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Assists with various employee benefit programs including medical/dental/vision/short term &long-term disability/group life insurance and 401k benefit information.
  • Assists with writing job descriptions and posting job descriptions on our careers page and ADP.
  • Assists with posting information about on company and careers on our social media accounts.
  • Assists the DHR with annual performance reviews.
  • Maintains required local, state, federal and departmental records, postings, and reports including I-9/E-Verify, EEO, FMLA and OSHA record keeping requirements.
  • Participates in weekly HR and Operation meetings.
  • Manages the Training Program and ensures new hires and employees receive new hire and annual training.
  • Prepares personnel action forms (PAFs) for Executive level for signature.
  • Coordinates office events and meetings as required.
  • Responsible for general office manager support.
  • Checks mail at offices and ensures delivery to proper recipients
  • Communicates and responds to employees in a timely manner via phone, email, and in person.
  • Completes Verifications of Employment (VOE)s and meets with Background Investigators to review HR Files.
  • Fills in for Director of Human Resources when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (1) year of experience in Human Resources in a large, complex services organization. Government contracting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, Social or other Sciences, or Organization Development required.
  • Familiarity with HR practices, processes, and systems.
  • Some background or willingness to learn ADP-Workforce now.
  • Experience with Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, FMLA and COBRA Administration.
  • Must have experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, and working in an environment which requires flexibility, innovation, superb customer service skills, and organization.
  • Some knowledge of employment law, federal and state laws as they relate to employment/HR practices.
  • High level of confidentiality, discretion, and ability to protect PGI proprietary and personnel information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand the English language, apply written rules, instructions, and other materials.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.

Applicant must be able to complete the following tasks:

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment to include a telephone, keyboard, computer, and copier/fax.
