The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) seeks a Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources Department. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years' experience working in a Human Resources department with an emphasis on benefits administration for health, welfare, and retirement plans.

In addition to benefit administration, this role will handle functions such as employee relations, recognition programs, and compensation administration. The successful applicant must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; have the ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities; and anticipate and plan for various compliance requirements. Strong Excel skills is a requirement and knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow is a plus.

The DAR is looking for a team player who is not afraid to voice an opinion and bring ideas to the table. An individual who is personable and genuinely enjoys working with people.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in Business or HR Management and three years of HR experience; or the professional work equivalent.
  • Relevant experience demonstrating the application of human resources best practices, principles, laws and regulations, and/or programs including knowledge of federal and D.C. HR regulations and benefits (i.e., ADA, EEOC, FMLA, HIPAA). This will include the ability to stay up to date and apply information to the DAR's structure and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in benefits administration
  • PHR certification preferred.
