Job description
Primarily responsible for ensuring the successful administration of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) functions for the Greenwich Public Schools, including salary reporting and timekeeping for certified and non-certified instructional staff. Collaborates on objectives with the Board of Education’s other Human Resources Administrator. Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Greenwich Public Schools.
Experience in public sector human resources preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a personal computer and related software, including a human resources information system.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and perform a variety of functions in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Examination: 100% Training & Experience Assessment
The examination to determine a candidate's eligibility for the position will be a Training and Experience Assessment. This type of examination requires that you completely fill out the application, adding pages for additional relevant information where needed, and attaching any documentation of certificates, degrees, other significant documents, etc. A candidate's eligibility to be interviewed will be based solely on material submitted at the time of application. Once the Eligibility List is prepared no further information may be submitted and no adjustments will be made.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the timely and accurate creation, updating and termination of all information for certified and non-certified instructional staff of the Greenwich Public Schools into the HRIS.
Provides notification as needed to all certified and non-certified instructional staff regarding their position, salary or related information. Ensures the successful reporting of special compensation such as stipends, extra duties payments and tuition reimbursement.
Conducts regular review of payroll information for certified and non-certified instructional staff to ensure data integrity.
Reviews bi-weekly the payroll register for certified and non-certified instructional staff, including data bridges and batches as necessary.
Ensures all functions are executed in compliance with the appropriate laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
Creates various training materials in regard to staff use of the time and attendance function.
Identifies, reports and works to address system-related issues as they arise.
Administers leave of absence requests including Family Medical Leave (FMLA) for all certified and non-certified instructional staff.
Administers Teachers’ Retirement Board functions. Provides new employee information to Board of Education collective bargaining groups in compliance with CT Public Act 21-25.
Oversees the third-party administration of 403b plan contributions for certified and non-certified instructional staff and responds to questions as needed.
Advises the Chief Human Resources officer on general and case-specific issues related to payroll and benefits administered by the Greenwich Public Schools.
Prepares confidential reports for the Chief Human Resources in relation to the Greenwich Public Schools’ collective bargaining and grievance processing.
Maintains confidential information in accordance with relevant contracts, laws, policies, and procedures.
Supports Town policies and philosophies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse screening test, given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.
