The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between associates and insurance providers. This is a hands-on tactical role that provides support in the areas of recruiting, learning and development, employee engagement, and ad hoc projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Administers various associate benefits programs, such as health insurance, enrollments, short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, and pensions.
- Respond to benefit questions from associates and providers.
- Processes required documents through HRIS, payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Perform periodic audits of benefits or other HR programs and work with HR Partners to correct any discrepancies.
- Partner effectively with HR Business Partners and HR specialist groups including Learning & Development, Recruiting, HR Operations and Payroll.
- Help with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientations, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted.
- Interpret and explain human resources policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the associate experience and partner with the HR team to develop and implement innovative and lasting solutions.
- Ensure employee inquiries are answered and/or properly routed in a timely manner.
- Formulate methods to improve employment policies, processes and practices as well as recommend changes to management.
- Support any other special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Proven planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks
- At least 2 - 3 years of experience in HR
- Strong ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism - can interface with all levels of the organization as a primary point of contact for team
- Works independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
