Our site in Garland, (Texas) is currently looking for a


HSE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the HSE Manager of the site, our HSE Technician supports the team on Health, Safety & Environment and Sustainability management system with the aim of ensuring the conformity with local, state and federal regulation. Promoting a positive safety culture and a knowledge of job site environmental, safety, and health requirements, and supporting safety performance that is inclusive in the kdc/one’s vision and strategic plan are key responsibilities of the role.


Responsibilities:

  • Role Model for Safety, Health and Environmental across the plant
  • Assist HSE & Sustainability Manager in specific HSE improvement programs within the plant and coordinating the dedicated teams.
  • Train new employees on HSE topics during onboarding and annual training
  • Assist HSE & Sustainability Manager in performing risk assessments by area / equipment and create safety and sustainability maps per line and area and on the addition of new equipment /systems / chemicals
  • Monitor work rules related to safety behaviors are in compliance
    Supports the participation in achieving safety and sustainability KPIs
  • HS&E and Environmental training of the month and coordinates refreshing training across the site with Supervisors and Team Leaders from the area
  • Participate in Safety Committee Meetings supporting HS&E and Sustainability Manager.
  • Monitor and perform periodic audits and Annual Inspections on Safety Equipment / Devices / Vessels process related and works with Engineering and Maintenance when required.
  • Maintain record of trained personnel on Hazardous Material / Waste
  • Ensure working sessions on Occupational Health & Safety
  • Participates in reporting and the investigation of HS&E and Sustainability incidents follow up action plans until completion.
  • Liaise with outside emergency responders during an incident. Act as Incident Commander in absence of HS&E and Sustainability Manager.
  • Responsible for record keeping on mandatory permit work system defined by Corporate and meeting OSHA regulations
  • Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly safety and sustainability statistics reports

Requirements:

  • University degree, OSHA and Sustainability Certification, highly desirable
    2+ years of experience in the HS&E activities
  • Safety & Environment Legislation
  • HSE and Sustainability and related certifications
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Problem Solving
  • Ability to coach and motivate employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communicating skills
  • Training development and trainer skills
