Summary of Position
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering HR policies and procedures and the overall HR functions in the project including compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and benefit administration. The HR Generalist oversees new hire screenings and orientations. This individual will explain the benefits offered by YoungWilliams and assist any employees as needed.
Essential Job Requirements
- Provides the overall Human Resources function in the project including compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and benefit administration
- Works with YoungWilliams Corporate office to handle personnel matters including the paperwork associated with the hiring and termination of staff
- Administers time and attendance program, including preparation of time and attendance records payroll
- Collects and records all leave requests; administers leave program
- Explains payroll and benefit information to project staff
- Completes onboarding of new hires, including orientation
- Administers effective recruitment program which includes posting positions, advertising open positions, interviewing and hiring staff in partnership with other project management staff
- Partners with management to handle employee relations issues, including corrective action and performance management
- Reports to the MS Project Manager and the Corporate Director of Human Resources
Required Education
- A Bachelor's Degree in personnel management or a related field and three (3) years' general experience in the HR field
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred
Required Experience
- Prefer five (5) years of managerial and supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of personal computers and automated spreadsheet skills
- Ability to develop, interpret and implement policies and procedures
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
