Position:

  • This position is preferably based out of Heber City, with office space available in Provo and Sandy. This position may require short-term travel.

We’re hiring an HR Generalist to deliver consistent, high-level service to employees and the leadership team in all aspects of human resources. As the HR Generalist, you will support the day-to-day human resources operations and business objectives, supporting major projects across the Western United States. With responsibility for several touchpoints throughout the employee life cycle, the HR Generalist will serve a trusted role in onboarding, employee records management, benefits and leave administration, employee relations, workforce engagement, and training and development. You will report to our HR Manager and be supported by a dynamic regional team.

*Responsibilities:*

  • Managing and coordinating the onboarding process, including timely and complete processing of pre-hire paperwork, employment verifications, MVR, and background checks, and creating a positive experience for new employees.
  • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, employee engagement and morale; safety; and training and development.
  • Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Supporting workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives, including town hall meetings, recognition events, team-building activities, and other special projects.
  • Interpreting and explaining human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations to employees at all levels within the company.
  • Assisting in maintaining compliance with Federal/State regulatory statutes and standards; taking ownership of employee file management, including I-9 audits and, other compliance standards.
  • Assisting with employee relations issues, as needed, including investigations, ensuring proper documentation, and working collaboratively toward resolution.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of financial information, insurance and litigation documents, employee information (e.g., wage information, discipline, health information), and other sensitive and confidential information.
  • Leading data mining inquiries and HR reporting functions.
  • Supporting weekly payroll processes, as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong initiative with ability to prioritize tasks and competing deadlines
  • Ability to generate creative and effective solutions for the challenges of today’s HR landscape
  • Willingness to learn why we’re passionate about the electric energy industry, and keep a growing workforce inspired about the impact of their work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Willingness to travel short-term for regional events and training
  • At least 3 years of HR assistant or generalist experience preferred
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • aPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
  • JD Edwards experience a plus
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s)
