Job description

Baker University seeks qualified applicants for an HR Generalist position, located at the Baldwin City, Kansas, campus.

The HR Generalist function is to support the Human Resources Department by coordinating the recruitment and hiring process for the University, managing workers’ compensation claims, and overseeing FMLA requests. In addition, this position will oversee and maintain the filing system, and assist with employee questions related to HR policies and procedures and employee and student insurance benefits. The HR Generalist shall assist the Director of Human Resources on special projects as requested.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience, with at least two years of directly related HR experience. Must be comfortable working with a variety of computer programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel. Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills while exhibiting the utmost level of confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications: SHRM-CP or PHR certification; experience in higher education
